day 2

zoe slept most of day 1 - which is the best thing she could do for her cold. she has the same affinity for warm milk as her sister did but while she's sick i'm not about to ween her on to a cold bottle.

the good news is that zoe's ears and lungs are clear, and that she's eating and sleeping well.
her cough seems better today but she is having a hard time with her morning nap. the fact that she can cry and not have a coughing fit is probably a good thing though.

we'll stay home again today. john mcd is in town from hawaii and has threatened to come over for lunch.

she's having a hard time with her morning nap, but i think she's finally out.

Holidays 2008

Holidays 2008

with thing 1 and thing 2

i'd like to say we made it though the holidays unscathed but that wouldn't be totally true.
while we had a great time getting together with family and friends, jackie and hannah were sick for the latter part of our time off and now zoe is still suffering with mom's cold

hannah loves the kitchen set that aviva sent. she makes a great pizza and an egg and cheese sandwich. he also loves her new dolls but it takes a long time for her to put ALL her dolls to sleep now and occasionaly it takes up most of the space in the living room.

the night before iPop 2.0

'twas the night before iPop 2.0
and all through the house
not a creature was stirring
not even zoe who has a cold

yes, the kids and even mom
were nestled deep in their beds
only 8:25 and the only thing running
was the dishwasher and Chris Berman's mouth.

the holidays seem distant
as we speed to start the year
jack back to work
... time for dad to stay home
-holy cow the knicks beat the celtics
it will be a very good year!

out of office message set
(on email and phone)
as many loose ends as possible
all tied up in bows.

the honey-do lists are starting stack
take your pick - strip the tree, the laundry, the shopping...
i know how st. nick feels with his piles of wishes

on yoga, on spinning, on lunch and on blogging,
on cleaning the cupboards, the fridge, the garage,
on trips to goodwill and community thrift
since we're d-u-n (having kids) no more need to keep
all the stuff that we thought we might just need again

on pictures and video and hours wasted on facebook
on that stack of books that will still not get read
on napping in the afternoon on the couch instead

on fixing the windows,,,
but stop!
we're forgetting the most imporrtant of all-
taking care of zoe and just gettin to know her

and with that...to all a good night!
